Pulling the Trigger

After an exhaustive search, and hundreds of miles of driving.. I think we have narrowed our choices down to two models.

2013 Shadow Cruiser Fun Finder 262BHS - Msrp is 32.4k

2014 Keystone Bullet 246RBS Msrp of 29.9lk

My Questions is.. What is a fair price for me to pay? The dealer is asking for the 499 prep fee.

Oddly enough, That is what I am (POTENTIALLY) buying. After seeing how much larger it is, It only makes sense.

  • Before you pull the trigger on the Shadow Cruiser I would do a RV.NET forum search on axles issues with Shadow Cruisers. I almost bought one for my first trailer and it had underrated axles on it which was causing a problem with tire blowouts ... do a search and you will see.

IMO I would go for the Keystone product over CruiserRV's Shadow Cruiser line if it must be between those two models.
  • Can't help you with which model would be best for your family.
Price...negotiate somewhere between 20 and 30% less than what they are asking...

Shop different dealers (even nationwide) for the exact model and options you decide on and use their prices as leverage.

I think the prep fee is complete baloney...It's their job to "prep" what they sell and I wouldn't pay a dime for it. (Ever pay a "prep" fee for a new car?)

But, regardless of any add on fees the dealer may want, the bottom line pricing is what counts.

And, don't let them muscle you into an extended warranty..they will certainly pressure you there and also for a paint and upholstery protection package.
