I don't know the years but Coleman campers had problems with their ABS roofs for a time. Check those carefully. I always liked the Coleman campers. Before we owned a camper we rented them often and they were always Coleman campers. When we purchased our first camper it was a Starcraft RT10 which is the off-road version but they made same floor plan in standard version. We loved that thing and often wish we had it back. I guess long story long I would not look for specific brand. throughout the brands in a 10' box you can find floor plans very similar. I would be more concerned with the actual condition of each trailer I looked at and see how well it was taken care of. Leaving one outside for storage leaves a lot of room for things to get ruined.

I agree.....research that minivan, and think of all the stuff they'll pack.....2 adults, and 4 kids with all their stuff is gonna add up quick

I will shop for one stored inside, they will store it inside as well. Hope to find a 10' .

Todays minivans are pretty stout tow vehicles. Most have payloads higher than 1/2 ton trucks, the Caravan is 1700lbs for example. Properly equipped they all have tow ratings of 3500lbs and several do not decrease that rating due to weight in the vehicle.

An 8-10' pup loaded will weigh less than 2500lbs and have less than 400lbs tongue weight. Even if the passengers weighed 1000lbs combined (which is a lot considering 4 of them are kids) they'd still have plenty of payload and tow rating remaining. Within the ratings it will tow fine.

It's a Chrysler minivan with the 3.8 motor. I felt as long as they keep the weight of everything under 3500# they should be fine.

We had a Rockwood made by Forest River and were very pleased with it.

You should do some research on the mini van first and remember that any deferred maintenance will rear it's head quickly when towing. Finding a good PUP is doable but will take some searching to get a nice one that hasn't been trashed. BTW, I commend you for trying to share the lifestyle with others. Obviously we don't know or need to know the circumstances and your motivation for this generosity but I am certain it is well founded. The memories they will create camping in a PUP will be priceless.
