I think it is a neat concept. It gives the look and size of a teardrop with extra room when you set up. As already mentioned, you couldn't have a body that long and tow it without having a longer tongue. It is a useful design even if there are people who don't like it.
Well it looks like some people do not like it. I had similar negative reactions about the IRS suspension on the Australian Jayco 5th Wheeler. Went for pages on an Australian RV site. When the Australian Company put the same IRS system on a New Caravan, everyone raved about it:h - Mike_UpExplorer

Actually the teardrop is different enough to sell, unlike some US Teardrops that were on sale here.
Video of the Gidget.

Jayco released this not too long ago.Its price was a lot cheaper a year before, go figure.
Wow, now I've seen it all. A COFFIN with a TV, a slide out with the viewing window, and a coffee stand for visitors at the wake.
What will those funeral homes come up with next?!
OH, after re-reading the thread, this is suppose to be a camper??? :E - travelnutzExplorer IIFrancesca Knowles,
Why are you trying the make a commonsense statement like that? Like the other thread running about how expensive the next to nothing teardrops are. Some have the ability to think and reason and then there's some who don't or can't! - Francesca_KnowlExplorer

Too bad they didn't make the tongue extendable, too. Now, that would have been innovative- increased space when parked, but smaller footprint/better maneuverability when towing. - chr_Explorer

What is the advantage of the slide? The tow length is the same with it in or out.
Probably to retain the "teardrop" look.
That's what I was thinking. It is a nice looking TD.
The worst part about that slide, is that when (not if) it starts to leak, it will leak on your bed...:h - 69_AvionExplorerI think it is a neat concept. Could well be. :h
Or they could be folks who derive their happiness from just being argumentative for the sake of it. Don't get me wrong, I like a good constructive argument from time to time (I am presently a certified ISO lead auditor), but note - I don't like quarrels, which is what many debates degenerate into. Arguments (as in respectful debate without snide remarks) is what helps us grow in knowledge. :)
Luckily the naysayers are absent on the Folding Trailer/Class B/Class C and to a lesser extent on the Travel Trailer/ 5th Wheeler forums.

You'd think we insulted the Queen or something. It's just a trailer, and to a lot of us the design doesn't make sense from a how-it-works standpoint. - RobertRyanExplorer
