Ram 3500 cabin air install

Installed a cabin air filter mod kit for my 2015 Ram 3500 longhorn Laramie that I purchased from Geno,s Garage after reading positive reviews. Gets very dusty here in North Dallas with the economy and housing construction boom here last several years. Think this would be installed at factory.Install went ok. Not as easy as the videos show. Cutting the area in the air box was awkward to say the least. Having to lay on back with your legs planted outside of front passenger side door was a tough angle to get a clean cut.

Clean and smoothed the area up, vacuumed the inside of air box, and installed the wix charcoal filter and face plate.

  • I have a hot knife that is I believe a 25-40w soldering iron with an exacto blade. Guess I could play around with on some Lexan plastic I have. Chris

To OP, did you cut that out with an electric or gas powered chain saw??? I wonder if my hot knife would cut it out? Chris

Did mine with a hot knife. Heat knife with torch, cut....heat knife....

Worked good when the knife was hot, LOL.

  • Did this to my last ram and need to do it again! Keeps your vents from getting dusty too!
