Ram 6ft 4 bed with fifth wheel

We have been using a Pullright superglide for 3 years. Unless is dead-on straight, it will not hitch. As to unhitching, at least on 5 ocassions, I have had to remove the pins from the hitch in order to unhitch. At this pont, I don't know if the hitch was installed slightly off or it could be "operator error".

Tape a plumb bob to the outermost corners of the fifth wheel and measure the distance from the string to the center to the pin. Compare that measurement to the distance of the hitch center to the cab. Certainly there are variables, but the idea is to determine if half the width of the trailer is less than the distance of the pin hole to the cab.

2014 Ram 3500 srw. Towing a 2014 Keystone Laredo. I could get very close to 90* if I didn't have a backrack on my truck.

2010 Ram 3500 SRW 4X4 Megacab B&W Companion towing 2014 Keystone Alpine 39' and not had any problems I think due to the curved front cap. Towed about 8K mi so far. I think they call it an 88 degree cap.

It all depends on your front cap. I have a Ram with the 6'4" box and could turn my previous 5er around in my circle. No can do with the new Fuzion (which is the same length).

I have never needed a slider with my 5er. But i do watch when backing just to make sure it dont hit the cab. Also never had any reason to back the trailer and truck to 90 deg.

Yep, Chevy normally longest cab to axle, then Ford, even though they are a 6'9" bed, and Ram is the least clearance. So, yes you would have to be more aware, going from the GM, to the Ram. Cab to axle could be more than 2"s difference.

Your GM truck has a longer dimension from the back of the cab to the trucks rear axle vs a Ford or Dodge/Ram. This helps with cab clearance issues. Many short bed GM owners report they simply don't need a sliding hitch and if they have one its not needed.

Also some of the newer trailer have a rounded/notched front corners which eliminates the need of a slider on a 6' 4" or 6' 6" short bed truck.

There is no one answer fits all on this issue.
