Random musings on my new set up

After a month or so of driving the new to me 2011 F350 dually loaded with a TC unloaded, and maxed with the TC and horse trailer I have formed some opinons.

For one I am never going back to a SRW, the handling improvent is simply amazing. That and I am truly amazed at the total systems improvment from 2003 to 2011

If it wasn't for towing the horse trailer and its varying loads (1-3 horses) I would just stick with upper and lower stable loads and call it good. The ride with them is fantastic. However when I have two or more horses in the trailer I do need a few inches of sag removed and airbags level that very quickly. Superhitch and super truss= peace of mind rolling down the road

Diesel, no doubt about it. when climbing the passes with 4500 in the bed and 7000 getting towed you can't beat the powerand you never need to have it floored.

4x4 yep

Buying used...I made the right choice no way I would drop 70k plus on a new truck but 38k fully loaded in mint condition yes that is way more doable

2011 F350 6.7L Diesel 4x4 CrewCab longbed Dually, 2019 Lance 1062, Torqlift Talons, Fast Guns, upper and lower Stable Loads, Super Hitch, 48" Super Truss, Airlift loadlifter 5000 extreme airbags

I purchased a new to my 2004 Dodge 3500 DRW 4x4 with the Quad Cab. I have not loaded my TC yet, but so far, everything about the truck has me as excited as a hog wollering in slop. I do not need a 4x4, DRW, or Quad cab. But there are so many things about this truck that I like.

I sure hope Buzz is as excited about his truck as I am about mine. I park it by me bedroom window, just so I can see it when I gotta pee at night.

I have always been a Ford guy, how are you liking the 6.7? I have read they are forming a reliable record so when I do buy a new truck, I might consider one.

How many miles on the truck when you bought and how many so far?

Its quiet, power from the start up no waiting for things to warm up like in my old truck. Pulls the grades loaded up like there is nothing in the bed or being towed. 69k on it when delivered just over 91k on it now.

So far I love it

Right on, it sounds nice! Be curious to hear if any issues pop up down the road.

There were significant improvements on the SRW side as well since 2003. When are you selling your SRW? 🙂 Also, don't you have more suspension improvements compared to your SRW?

Keeping the SRW. It makes a good day hauler for the horses.

SRW has more suspension mods, Upper Stable Loads, Airbags, front and rear Roadmaster anit sway bars, Rancho 9000 shocks 19.5wheels and tires

DRW has stock shocks and antisway bars, upper and lower Stableloads. Airbags go on this Tuesday

Heheh, it's "Nice" when everything comes together...

Nice rig... whatever it takes to get out there is what counts. Better when it all works..

Fun..
