Readers Choice Awards

Just received the latest Trailer Life magazine. They have the results of the yearly readers choice awards. The #1 choice for tow vehicles is.... wait for it... Ford!!! Chevrolet is #2, and Dodge is #3. I don't get it. Every time I see a post on here about ford trucks lots of posters will jump in to flame ford trucks as junk. So what gives????. You'll notice in my profile I drive a Ford truck but I'm not really a ford guy, always have driven a GM product, so haven't been drinking the blue koolaid. So, go ahead and flame me, I'm a firefighter and have the protective equipment to protect myself!!! LOL. (just couldn't help myself) Cheers John.

When I bought my Ram I told the salesman that it would be the last truck I buy. It has been so darn dependable, it will probably outlast me on this earth.
Our Rig:
2005 Dodge 3500 - Dually- Cummins
2006 Outback 27 RSDS

We also have with us two rescue dogs. A Chihuahua mix & a Catahoula mix.

"I did not get to this advanced age because I am stupid."

Full time since June 2006

I think if you remove the fleet trucks you may find Ford is far from the KING of light duty trucks. Give me a Cummins engine, Allison transmission and a nice set of Ford leather seats and I would be a happy traveler.

I guess you have not driven a 4th gen LongHorn. Seats are awesome and so is the 68RFE and the commercial grade Aisin that is far superior to the Allison offers in the GM twins.

I'll give you the seats, but you're not fooling anyone here about the tiny 68RFE! :W

The jury is still out for the Japanese Aisin. :R

Well there sure are not any problems that I am aware of on the 68RFE. If there were I would think I would be having problems withat 40K and 28K combined and with 3:42 gears.

The Jury has approved the Aisin long ago. The Chrysler head warranty rep said "they are too good for a pickup and they don't break"

Many years ago the Bow Tie was blue. :W

Again this was a survey made by the people who subscribe to Trailer Life mag and voted for various products. It's no accident that Ford got the most votes. Ford has and will continue to dominate various industries.

Based upon sales Ford is the most popular of the "Big 3."

Now, does most popular = "best?"

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

I like my F250 but am heavily leaning toward Ram for my next truck. But hey, I'll test drive them all, Chev/GMC included. Freedom of choice and shopping with an open mind is much more my style than showing brand "loyalty" to a hunk of steel & fluids that couldn't pick me out of a lineup even if I drove it daily for 10 years.

In my mind, they're all so close in price, performance, and reliability that it comes down to personal preference and factors like how the seats fit your caboose and which interior appeals most...subjective things. I just don't see a clear-cut winner. They all have their strengths & their little quirks, and they are all seemingly getting better with each generation.

Right you are !
