Replacement Escape vent lid

I built one that was so much stronger than original.

Now that I am rebuilding my TC, I am installing a marine escape hatch. SO I have this entire assembly removed in good condition.

If you have Domatic escape hatch go to the Dometic website they carry all the replacement parts for the Heki II and so on. Had to replace the the whole frame on mine when the epdm was replaced. I found the part there.

Found the excat match from a seller on e-bay after finding a site on the web which had it for $39.95 but shipping was $40. Found they had a e-bay site and it was $11 cheaper using e-bay. Had $15 sitting in PP from a refund a while back so all I had to put out was $55. Just threw the old lid up on top covering the hole and put a cinder block on it to hold it down till the new one arrives via econmy shipping, about 12 days from Elkart,In. Glad that's done.

Yes, I would have it coated before putting it back on.

I think if mine ever started to crack I would fiberglass the whole thing by bringing it to a boat builder and have him spray it with the fiberglass chopper gun. That would probably work great too.

Often saving money in the short term cost much more in the long run.

I've thought of doing something like that. If I end up repairing mine I'll go that way. Just got up there and with a bit of energy I got the old one off, sort of a PIA but got it. Mine is 25.5 X 18.5 so About a 26 X 19 will work, weird size from the ones I've seen.

What size do you need? Adventure lists a 16X22 and a 22x22 both made by Jensen
