Roof maintenance

We just bought a 2010 Dutchman sport and it doesn't appear that there is been any maintenance done to the roof. it doesn't leak and I want to keep it that way is there anything I need to do to it to make it last?
  • As has been stated, check the sealants around all the items on the roof, reseal as needed. Washing the roof once or twice a year will help keep down the black streaks down the side. A little dish washing liquid, bleach will do wonders on any roof type. If a rubber roof, most manufacturers will tell you no protectants needed or recommended. You will also want to check the roof AC to make sure the seal is tight. There are usually some (4) bolts that should be checked/tightened from time to time to make sure the gasket is providing a good seal.
  • There's also roof coatings that are UV protective that I use on my rubber roof. Just had a dealer do the full wash/protect treatment - cost about $250. In six months I'll clean and re-treat myself.
  • Check it 2 or 3 times a year for peeled/cracked/dried seals. Recaulk where needed or replace Dicor, or use Eternabond tape as needed.

Wash it with a mixture of hot water and Oxyclean. More to prevent black streaks on the sides of the trailer than any other reason.
