RV battery security

Here is one option...I have no experience with one so can't say how good or bad it is...(but, if they want it they can take it...lock or not)

that is exactly what I use. certainly makes it tougher to steal than many other options. they are good people to deal with also.

It certainly helps to discourage the snatch and runs, but even without extra tools I think it can be defeated.

I have only had 1 stolen and lucky for me it was already shot, I just hadn't switched it out yet. I wrap a chain around mine with a lock on it but it really is just for looks and it would be easy to get it off.

About all you can do is make it difficult for the thieves. They will get your battery no matter what you do...

My trailers are in spot where the back house lights comes on from movement in the back yard.

Putting your batteries is a locked steel box is what most folks do. The keyed side latch is the better lock as just using a regular lock can be cut off in seconds.

As always out of sight out of mind is best defense I think...

When you get your Honda Generator don't even think about leaving it abandoned along with the trailer. Keep it locked up in the bed of your truck and covered with a locked folding bed cover. My 2KW Honda goes where I go...

I have even thought about a motion detector operated fence shocker unit. But I would be the one to go to JAIL probably for harming the thief.

This is what I use too. Had one battery stolen several years ago but none after I started locking them up. As with any lock, it can be defeated but thieves will usually not take the time if the battery is locked.

Here is my security solution for my two 6V golf cart batteries. The opposite end has an identical lock.

I bought 2 of the 6 volt battery box locks 2 years ago after I had my 6 volts stolen. The thief wasn't very nice. Cut the cables & left the battery box lids on the ground & stole the boxes. One of the boxes had my cut off switch screwed to it so the cost of that theft went even higher. I have now attached the cutoff switch to the frame so it can't be stolen again. The battery lock brackets shown in the links here have worked very well for me. I have been happy with them. I'm lucky as they are made locally so one of the RV dealers carry them.

I'm not back into camping yet but when we had our pop-up I just lifted the battery box off the a-frame and set it inside the front storage trunk. The battery box was strapped down with a web belt so it was pretty easy. I didn't really have to carry it anywhere. I just lifted it two feet and set it down. The battery connectors had wing nuts so dis/connecting it was also not a problem.
