We bought our 5th Wheel from Fun Town in Cleburne. Overall, the experience with Sales was not too bad. They were definitely not pushy and didn't follow us around while we looked. They just gave us cell # to call if we had any questions and asked us to take pictures of inventory # on units we were interested in. I did comparison shopping on the same unit with same options at several places and Fun Town was by far the best bang for the buck by a few thousand dollars. My only complaint was the F&I guy. He was quite flaky. The sales guy had already told us the interest rate we were approved for and we agreed to the purchase. We get there and the F&I guy tries to tell us quite a bit higher interest and then tells us he has authority to lower the interest only if we buy the extended warranty (an extra $3000). Also, the sales guy had told us that the $ we put down to "hold" the unit was optional down payment or could be returned at final. I verified with him this being the case and he told me "yes, it is only used to hold the unit and we often return it if the customer request". We had a reasonable trade so I really didn't want to put an extra $1000 down. When I brought it up to F&I, I was told that the finance company (a credit union) would only finance with the $1000 down. My thoughts...you mean to tell me they will lower the interest rate and finance the $3000 extended warranty but WILL NOT finance the $1000??? I told F&I that the salesman told us it was refundable so he called him down to office. The salesman agreed that he told us that and explained that the regular F&I person does this but she was out and this guy did not run the paperwork through without it and it would cause delay if we changed. The $1000 was definitely not going to make or break us and the only reason we even expected it back was because the salesman told us it would be refundable at closing. We had driven 100 miles one way for delivery so we reluctantly told them to proceed. This was the first purchase that we had made where we financed a unit. I have learned from several in this forum that they don't put money down to "hold" a unit and I wouldn't do it again. Funny thing is, with all my questioning (interest, down payment etc.) the F&I guy suddenly agreed to change the interest rate to even lower than we were originally told by the salesman without us buying the extended warranty. Weird how he had that authority all the sudden. We already had approval through our local bank but the interest was a point higher than what the salesman had told us we were getting through them so we chose to use them. The F&I guy was difficult to deal with and for that reason, I am not certain I would deal with Fun Town again. Although, from what I understand, the F&I lady is not that way. Who knows?
