Sealant for awning bolt/plates?

Found some water damage under the rear attachment of the side awning. Going to need to clean and reseal it. What sealant do I use?

I have self leveling Dicor and both clear and white Geocel ProFlex. I'm thinking the Dicor for vertical surfaces will work best, but I also have several tubes of ProFlex already.

Your thoughts?
  • "My awning attachment has Dicor under it and around it."

The posts below mind got me thinking that I'm not sure what's under mine. I may be thinking of a something else. In any case, I can't check without going to the storage lot, so discount my post. Sorry. :(
  • I installed a Carefree awning on the rear of my TC, they provided butyl tape for sealing between the bracket and camper.
  • I generally use butyl under any joining pieces, caulk perimeter, bedding in caulk works. The self leveling dicor on vertical surface (wall) may be an issue, its more intended for horizontal surfaces, unless your application will contain it, may flow away from joint or edges. Between what you have seems proflex might be better.

Ah, good info. I'll unbolt the whole thing and place new butyl tape. Thank you.

Dicor does have a non-sag sealant, #551 that I can buy. However, with using butyl tape, I'll think I'll use the Proflex on top of that.
