Sensata Dimensions Inverters

I just got a mil-spec 2200 watt sensata pure sine wave inverter from a buddy who bought a pallet of them at a gov't auction. This thing is built in the USA like a tank. Nice product. Cannot wait to use it. It is rated at 30A and can start a 1HP motor, not that I'd run my AC unit, but could if I had enough batteries. This is a ~$1,600 unit. It has a 6KW surge. Has a huge transformer in it.

Anyone else have one? I cannot find much in the way of discussions about this unit or brand. Maybe they cost too much to be in use outside the military and multi million dollar Yachts...

It even has a pass through relay so it powers up automatically when the shore power goes away.

My questions WRT large inverters, is this thing can draw 180A @ 12V full load, what do people use as a main DC buss fuse? Not a whole lot of options out there. This one happens to be a 24V input, but that is still 90A. I guess a 100A Cartridge fuse more commonly used for AC circuits. I will be adding a second pair of 6V batteries to power it, and have the bank switch from 12V to 24V depending on whether the Inverter is in use or not. (4 in series when the inverter is on or 2+2 in parallel when off and connected to the truck.)

I'm currently looking at how I want to use it. I have a 700W modified wagen that has been a good unit that I was going to power the household outlets only but so far I have only really used it to make coffee and run some fans, but this one will run the MW and larger loads without breaking a sweat. I may install a very large contactor to switch my 12V loads to run off of the existing converter when this thing is powered up (via 120VAC) from the inverter to the converter, accepting the losses, and then off the batteries directly when off.

I'm an electrical engineer so I can design the circuits and the logic of operation, and wire safely with fail safe automation, but wondering if anyone here has done something using both 24 and 12V stuff in the same rig.

Maybe just sell it and buy a 12V unit... But this one is made in the USA... and too bad a s s to give up.

Hmmm... Decisions.
