Shadow Cruiser Quality

Sure seems like a lot of trailer for the money compared to other (already cheap :)) units. I found a floor plan I like and it's reasonably close to my house. Anyone have any stories to share?
  • We have a 2012 FunFinder made by cruiser RV before Thor bought out the company. We've been very happy with it. Only major issue was with a roller under the floor that supports the slide as it moves in and out. The roller would not turn because it was jamed with caulk. Before I realized what was happening, the floor of the slide became damaged. Fortunately, I was able to repair it myself and no major problems since. It seems to be a very nicely appointed camper.
  • Not sure if you already bought but thought I would chime in. We own a 280QBHS and have since 2013. We bought it new from a dealer. The first year was great but have since had issues. The first being the axles were put on wrong and it was out of warranty so Cruiser RV wouldn't fix it. We have also have an issue with our slide out. Our TT is currently in the shop because our slide computer wouldn't work and now the track needs to be replaced and the part is impossible to find. Also our furnace is not working now, we aren't sure what is wrong with it but we do know that there is no air in the line and the pilot light works. For a trailer that is only 3 years old I feel like we are experiencing quite a few problems. For the money we thought it was a great deal but we are finding that is not the case.
  • We have a Cruiser Viewfinder and really like it. Build quality is comparable to other mid line RV's. Have made a lot of mods to it because that's what I do. Trailer is well insulated and I added more. Very comfortable in cold weather...
  • We bought a used Fun Finder by Cruiser -- used it for six years and sold it for a good price -- bought another one used. They are good trailers -- not perfect. We had the same low point drain issue -- we moved the pickup for the pump and also put a strut under the water tank to keep it from sagging. Check out the links in my signature to find out more about the trailer and about our travels, if you'd like.

I do not think Cruiser's quality is much different from any other brand. Thor recently bought the company -- they have a good reputation -- so we will see what happens.

Make sure your dealer gets good reviews on Yelp -- if there are warranty issues, you want someone who is concerned about his reputation and will go to bat for you.

By the way, we would buy another Cruiser product, if we were in the market for one.
  • We bought a Viewfinder Signature 32rlss one year ago this month new. So far it has been great for 30+ nights of camping through 7 trips. Small issues that were addressed under warranty and that's it.
  • We have a 2012 Shadow Cruiser 261BH (no slide). Everything still works fine. I had new tires put on at Cruiser RV expense as the first set was showing dry rot within the first year. Fresh water tank pickup point is a bit high, so the bottom 1/4 of the tank isn't available. Other than that, the trailer is holding up fine for us. We were also impressed with what you get for the cost.
  • My first tt was a 189FB. A good little trailer. I found the bathroom was just a tiny bit too small for me.
  • A friend of ours owns one. They've had a couple of small issues. They're very happy with it. I think it's finished very nicely.
