I went from a 2011 ram 2500 to the 2011 chevy 2500 not "OLDER" by any means. So am comparing apples to apples. Glad your taking the hit of buying new every 2 or 3 years. Leaves the rest of us some good used cars to look at without paying the new car price. I wouldn't own a brand new truck or coach as far as that goes. I will let some one like you pay the big money for all the newness and spend the money I saved on things the wife and I both enjoy.
Wow, more assumptions...you "assume", I take a hit....and don't even know me...I purchase at employee cost, plud any incentives...trucks are paid for when purchased....
Guess it boils down to "taste"...Last Chevy I tried out was a 2013 before I purchased the 2013...now I am comparing LTZ to Longhorn trim and 3500 Dually's to 3500 dually's...so that's the big difference. Last 2500 I owned was in 03' To me, the Ram looks better, inside and out than the new Chevys', look better inside, not as much "plastic", and with the all new frame, front and rear suspension, medium duty diesel engine coupled to a medium duty tranny...heck, I can't lose..
oh, and I'm more than glad to take very, very good care of all the trucks I've ever purchased and then buy new every 2 or 3 years...low mileage and in excellent condition when I get rid of them. After 4 yrs. in the military, purchasing and reparing old vehicles while over seas, I said, if I could afford it, I wouldn't buy used again...on a few occasions I have, but rare.....Seeing as how you know so much about me and know what kind of "Hit" I take, can you tell me if I can go ahead and retire in 2 years?? I mean, you have a crystal ball or seem to think you know my financials and you don't know me from Adam, or anything else about me for that matter.
Funny thing is, I like Chevy just as much, if not more than you do..bet I've owned more..but won't "assume" that...and WOULD go back to them if I needed to...you just came on this thread and trashed Ram period, it appears that was your only intent....heck, you even compared a Ram gasser to a Chevy D/A...We're talking about diesels here...but I understand your agenda:)
HEY, my son was born in Wichita Falls TX back in July of 71', courtesy of Uncle Sam, USAF, Shepherd AFB...had Tech School there....appears the only thing we have in common....cool:)...
No sorry man you will never be able to retire spending your money on vehicles every 2 or 3 years.I just don't see it in my crystal ball. Now me I am retiring next year at 54 and going fulltime with my used truck and 5th wheel. I didn't trash Ram YOU ASSUMED I did I just relayed my experience with the truck I had. And the OP never mentioned diesel he has a gasser. Spending all that money on new trucks has fogged your brain. And you can say all you want about not taking a hit when buying new everybody knows the truth anytime you buy new you take a hit. I don't care if you get it at employee cost you still pay for being the first owner.
