Springdale 240BHWE

We are thinking about purchasing a 2015 Keystone Springdale 240BHWE. We like the layout and having the arctic package and the larger water tanks is a huge bonus as we do alot of dry camping. We would also have the slide awning and solar installed prior to purchase.
I would appreciate any good or bad comments anyone has about the Springdale lineup.
Our other option is the new 2015 Creekside with the same layout, unfortunately with a much higher price tag. I am not a newbie with trailers and I do realize that there is really no comparison between the two when it comes to quality. We feel that we just wouldn't get enough use out of the trailer to justify the extra cost... At least at this point in our lives.
I have decided that if I go for the Springdale that I will go over the entire trailer immediatly after purchase and check or redo all of the sealant on the most problematic areas, I wouldn't want to own one of these after it leaked with all of the lovely strand board..
Here is a link to one the same as what we are looking at

  • We bought a 15 Springdale 311 RE last fall,we got to use it twice before winter. We had no problems and are happy with it.
We are anxiously awaiting spring and going camping again.
  • I can't comment on the Springdale but having bought a 2015 Creekside 23BHS last fall feel like we made a wise purchase. Unfortunately we bought it late last season and only managed to use once and can not wait to get it out this spring. Having previously owned several other TT, this is one solid trailer and tows amazingly well. Looking at the link that you posted I bought our Creekside for less than that from Sumner RV in Seattle. I'm not sure how long of a drive that is for you and what the exchange rate would be like, but it might be worth looking into. I know we will keep this TT for many years and felt like spending a little more money was worth it in the long run for a solid built TT. Just my .02. :-)
  • We owned a Springdale several years ago and it was trouble free. It never went back to the dealer for any repairs at all. After full-timing we looked for a used one around that size but couldn't find one so bought a Hideout. I wouldn't hesitate to buy the Springdale.
  • Here is my 241RKWE on it's first trip last year:

It's the only one I've ever owned so I don't have a comparison. I like it and have had no real issues. I had to replace a screw on one of the black fender well covers but that is it so far.

If it has the 60 fresh water, that is nice. On the trip above, there were three of us from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. Even including two showers, we still had some left.
  • We bought our Springdale bunkhouse last July. We used it quite a bit last year and really like it. Realistically, it's not an expensive luxury trailer, so it's not top of the line. But it's a great value for plenty of fun times.

We have only had three issues so far. On the drive home from the dealership, the floor-mounted table leg brackets pulled up from the carpet, and the table fell over. We decided to replace the pipe-style table legs with folding legs. The rig in your pictures doesn't have the pipe legs, so no worries.

Secondly, the wallpaper near the bathroom was bubbled when we picked up the trailer. It's under warrant, so the dealer is taking care of that in the spring. Lastly, we have blown the fuse to the slide motor 3 times in 6 months. Probably nothing serious, and we had spares with us each time, but the dealer will chase down the problem for us.

Overall, we have been impressed with our Springdale. Similar to the model in your post, we paid $18k for ours. There is certainly room to negotiate. Good luck!
  • Nice floorplan. The only info from here on the Springdale is a neighbor who had one and to the best of my knowledge they never had any issues. They used to take the grandkids regularly, but as the grandkids got older, the trips diminished. They finally sold it. Fully understand the budget factor and how much use you are going to get to justify the extra $$$$. Happy Camping!
  • I saw a Springdale at a recent RV show around 20 feet (trailer) for 10 thousand sale price. I looked at another guy and we both grumbled "nice price." My wife and I just bought a KZ 16 ft two years ago for 13 thousand. I was impressed with the Springdale too.
