Stable loads distance from overload spring.

I was wondering if a spacer should be placed so that the stable is closer to the spring. The truck is level with the water tank full but
Im sure with the boat loaded it wont be level anymore.

The nice part is I can leave them on the truck and the very rarely slap.

Thoughts?

This is how my Ford was.

I was wondering if anyone has placed a piece of 1/4" flat stock to build up the stable load.

I guess it works so why change it...

  • I put the stock bump stops back on between the bracket and the stable loads. there is that much less space between the spring and the stable load. This was a suggestion with the instructions that came with the stable loads or I read it some place else, I don't remember. Any way there is less space before the stable loads make contact with the springs.
  • Is that gap with the camper loaded? I want mine touching ever so slightly when everything including the boat is loaded.

Huh? Explain please. Are you talking about the lower mounted stable loads?
