Sway bar

I put a Hellwig Big Wig on my 2016 Ram 3500 SRW. It helped a lot. I transferred it off the 2016 onto the new 2018 dually. I have made one 800 mile trip with it. It worked well. However I haven't disconnected it with the camper on to determine the difference running with and without it.
The installation on the 2018 was a bit easier than the 2016. Like most aftermarket manufacturers, Hellwigs instructions are unclear and sometimes just wrong because they are not updated for newer models.You will have to un-clip and bend the small brake tubing on top of the axle a little. The hanger bolting at the rear of the frame is a tight fit. Otherwise I'm happy with it. I did loosen and back off the double nuts on one of the hangers to effectively disconnect it for unloaded driving.
I would make 1 short trip without any mods just to see what it does. I would bet you will want the sway bar, not sure about the StableLoads. My Bigfoot is about 4500# wet and heavily loaded. Only mod I have is the sway bar.

I'd use one. Sway bars are not there to prevent sway from happening. they are only to help control it during a emergency maneuver. So IF you think you will never have to dodge a deer, or bear, or accident happening in front of you. Don't put one on. But if like me. You may someday have to jerk the wheel to miss something. Put it on.

I have lower stable loads on my dually. They really shine when driving in cross winds. Best mod I have done to the Trucks suspension.

Really, some duallies come without a sway bar? If so, I'd say yes to the sway bar.

My F550 came stock with one, but I replaced with a much larger one when I installed the camper. You can really tell the difference. Took most of the roll out. 550's have 10 leaf springs plus the helper. Wish there was a heavier front bar, but no luck so far. Camper weighs about 6600 lbs and is tail heavy.

I would like to see your set-up and a picture of your sway bar. If you can, please post pictures. Sounds like a great rig.

Thanks for info, I am going to order one. Going to Missouri Ozarks the second week of July for a truck camper Rally. First trip with new Ram dually and Hosts cascade. Don’t think I can get the sway bar here and installed before we go.

My F350 dually came with both front and rear sway bars (camper package). I replaced them with Hellwig front and rear bars which are MUCH bigger (front one went from 7/8" to 1.5" - 8 times stiffer). It makes a big difference in body lean, and also any bump or roll steer associated with the suspension. That helps on corners, but also anytime the suspension is disturbed, say by a crosswind or a big truck passing. I also took the rear off for awhile after I swapped the rear suspension for air suspension. The air suspension allows less roll and roll steer than the springs did, but it still was lacking so I put it back on. The only downside to really stiff anti-roll bars is if you off road a lot on really rough stuff. Then you can always disconnect one side. They make a very slight degradation in empty ride quality, but you have to pay attention to notice.

I drove all the way to AK and all over the up there with no sway bar and almost as much camper and a lot less truck, so yes you can do it no problem. Just better with a sway bar imo.

I ordered a Big-wig for my 16 Super Duty last Saturday. With Amazon Prime shipping, I had it on Tuesday. Thursday night took the camper off the truck, backed it into the garage, dropped the spare, installed the sway bar (alone), reinstalled the spare and loaded the camper up in 3 hrs total.

You can do it!
