tank level indicator retrofit

I have a KZ Sportsmen Classic with no tank level indicators.

The next model up, the Spree Escape, has a tank level indicator panel.

Where is the best place to go to buy parts to retrofit my trailer with a TLI on the grey and black tanks? Anyone done this?

Seems like I should be able to buy whatever system KZ is using on their Spree Escape...I believe the tanks themselves are the same, so retrofitting should be easy.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have!
  • My suggestion would be to forget about it. Tank level sensors are not very reliable. It seems like it would be a waste of time and money to me.

Where can you find them.......thought they went out of business :H

    OP.....

IF you really want to install monitor/panel then use the See Level Kit.

They are an external sensors and therefore WORK. But more expensive them the standard stuck thru wall 'stud' types.

    SeeLevel

    Personally.........
Haven't looked at our level indication in 7 yrs.

I know that we can go 7 days easily and 10 days if needed before dumping.
    Besides:
    When toilet 'burps'...time to dump
When sink/shower slow to drain....time to dump
When water pump goes 'buuurrrrr'....should have put water in fresh water tank

    Amazon for the Black

    Amazon for the Grey

A lot cheaper than See Level

Wasn't long ago that no probes were available.......:H

THEY are better than OEM which is not much more than a 'bolt' stuck thru side of tank.

SeeLevel are more expensive BUT OP doesn't have ANY indicators......so See Level would be easiest to install and are a better system because sensors do not contact any of the stuff (stick to outside of tank vs holes thru tank wall)

    Good point!
May be a system like This would work too.
  • I put in the Horst probes a number of years ago. First I found the mfg of the trailer put the probes in the wrong place (per the level mfgs instructions) so I relocated a couple. Since then they have worked near perfectly. If the black tank doesn't a thorough flushing of the tank fixes that, and for the money, they suit me fine. After 7 years with this trailer I pretty well know how long the tanks will last.
