Not piling on (I have nothing against GM, honestly) but out running around with the wife earlier today I noticed a current-gen Silverado (08+) with badly deteriorating headlight lenses which surprised me a great deal.
I guess I noticed because our 07 Volvo has headlight lenses that look 12 years old too...yet my 15yr old Land Cruiser's look new...Grrr...
I think in some respects new vehicles are better...in some respects they are worse.
A buddy just bought a new 2013 Ford F150. Plastic inner wheel well protectors were optional....and when he closes the door or the hood...the panels distort.
He has no complaints...at all with his new F 150...a very nice truck. I wouldn't mind having it myself.
We just replaced our 31 year old Maytag washer :( with a brand new washer. All I can say is build quality...it's like comparing a '70 Mack truck with a modern economizer.
The new washer works well....but I'm wondering if it will be as durable as the old Maytag.
On the other hand when was the last time you heard of someone getting a valve job. In the '60's this wasn't all that uncommon.
So some things are better....some aren't.
I just hope I can afford to fix the new things I have, when they break down. :D - LessmoreExplorer II

That ProMaster may rival the Pontiac Aztec as the ugliest vehicle ever.
Maybe so...but the ProMaster is a commercial van that needs to a practical, efficient load and cargo carrier first and foremost.
The best design to carry the most cargo....is essentially something in the shape of a brick or a shoebox.
When you compare this brick of a commercial vehicle to a pickup truck...solo cargo carrying capability...this van shines.
Much like a couple of other bricks I can think of....the Ford Econoline and Chevy Express vans. - janebExplorer

Now that's just downright not fair. Fuel stations charging dodge/Ram owners more per gallon of diesel? :@

Isn`t that pro a redesigned Sprinter?
Nope. The Pro is a competitor of the Sprinter. I think that the Fiat group has been selling it in Europe for a while, but not sure about that.
The Fiat Ducato, which the ProMaster is based upon, has been used in Europe for 30 years. - bmanningExplorerNot piling on (I have nothing against GM, honestly) but out running around with the wife earlier today I noticed a current-gen Silverado (08+) with badly deteriorating headlight lenses which surprised me a great deal.
