Maybe so...but the ProMaster is a commercial van that needs to a practical, efficient load and cargo carrier first and foremost.
The best design to carry the most cargo....is essentially something in the shape of a brick or a shoebox.
When you compare this brick of a commercial vehicle to a pickup truck...solo cargo carrying capability...this van shines.
Much like a couple of other bricks I can think of....the Ford Econoline and Chevy Express vans.
