Nice recovery from a bummer situation! Where was that camping spot?? Were you on the OR or WA side of the river?
Just a thought regarding fuel pump replacements... I have had to do a few of these. Usually the pump has just gotten weak and cannot provide the full pressure the injectors need. I will disconnect the fuel line and attach a few feet of hose with a clamp. Then I short the relay to power the fuel pump. A few taps on the tank and it will usually start working. This is good enough to pee out the fuel in to whatever containers I am using. Much easier than siphoning or trying to work with a full tank!
