YES! This! Thank you so much for stating this. I get tried of hearing about someone who "had an experience" or who knew a person (or even a few people) who had an experience with something, and they extrapolate that to include LITERALLY the HUNDREDS of millions of tires sold each year.
As a scientist (biologist), I just have to shake my head when people don't understand how data work, how statistics are measured, or how conclusions are drawn. Those are the same type people who say, "Brr ... it's cold today! See ... climate change isn't real because I'm cold right now, today."
