Jim what are you getting MPG wise? I'm wondering what the highway is with the DEF compared to the non DEF.

Don, Been making several trips from Asheville to my camp in WV and back, a 255 mile trip, up and down, up and down, curvy and mountainous on the secondary roads and last several trips I've gotten anywhere from 16.2-16.7 mpg...truck has 3100 miles on it. This last trip up, I pushed it and ran 75-80 mph on the interstate and then slowed it down once I hit the last 40 miles of secondary roads and got 16.4 (all hand calc)...Evic is REALLY close, unusally within a tenth or two.
One thing I've noticed that is different between this truck and my 10' and 12' is once I get here and then do our "running around" of start and stop, short trips, start, stop and all, the mpg would start dropping with each trip....it also drops down on this one, but I can get up here and averaged 16.4-16.7 mpg, do all the running around we want, and still end up getting over or "right at" 16 mpg....could never do that with my other two trucks...
Driving to and from work, I'd run 13 to 14.5 mpg or so with the 10 and 12', or even lower...I can stay over 15.5 gallons fairly easily and get near 16 at times...
So far, I've added two gallons of DEF, needle is just below full, but I don't know how well the gage works...guess I'll find out...I'm not adding anymore until the EVIC tells me to, or the needle drops to half...I can get it for $2.89 a gallon at a Filling station about 5 miles down the road.
Chomping at the bit to hook up my 5er and tow it somewhere...really want to see how truck will tow, (expect it to do an exceptional job because the 10 and the 12 both did a great job towing it). The picture frame adapter SHOULD be at my dealership by the time I get back home next Monday.....
