- rexlionExplorerI was glad to learn about these, and they seem like they'd be just the thing for my tilapia filets grilled over charcoal (with some wood chips thrown on the coals for smoke). The tilapia sticks fiercely to the aluminum foil I've been using.
But the mats all say not to use directly over the heat source, which is exactly where they'd be on my particular grill.... oh well. I don't want to take the chance of perhaps poisoning myself from the breakdown of teflon. Maybe if I ever get a different type of charcoal grill and can stick some sort of pan in between the coals and the mat, I will be brave enough to use these mats. - K_MacExplorerWelcome mommie 53241: Now use your truck as your toy hauler like a lot of us here.

Hi mommie53241! Welcome to the Truck Camper forum, too. Lots of good information here and don't hesitate sharing, as you did this time too.
Thank you Stars 101 for your response. We used to have a toy hauler but now we just have our TC and we just got it about a month ago. I was really excited that I can share what we got but there are some things that do need changed or fixed and wanted advice on it and the responses have been okay to kinda rude. I wasn't trying to push in to this site I was just trying to be friendly and I have met a lot of other campers personally that have not heard of the BBQ Mat or have one and never really used it and I use mine for camping and at home all the time so I was simply sharing my info not trying to sell anything it just works great. So thank you again for sticking up for me. :) Have a wonderful weekend Stars101 :)
Ironically I saw this item mentioned in one of the cooking segments on the morning, Today show. I think it was this last Thursday, Oct 23rd. Sounded interesting. While they protrayed it able to grill directly on the surface, they did show that serving dishes (like you would use in an oven application) setting up on it too. While I haven't seen one and they did note the grill marks that would be left on the grill items.
Congrats on your new Truck Camper too. Thanks for posting.
b - jmckelvyExplorerOP, thanks for posting. I had never heard of or seen those. I might pick up several.
How your post could be construed as selling them is beyond me.
Keep posting and ignore any rude responses. - Reddog1Explorer IIYou are not pushing into anything. You are just as welcome as anyone. Hang in there.

Well stated. I am disappointed at some of the responses. I considered editing or deleting posts, but was hoping a forum member would step forward. Thank you Stars101.tony lee wrote:

Is this an advertisment for something your selling?
Funny you should have that thought.
People - the OP joined RV.net in 2011 so it's not like she just joined today and posted this thread. There was not even a link, just a photo for identification. Chill.
Let's just take it as it was meant - that it's a cool product she has used and wanted to let people know about. I think the OP is new(er) to posting on the forums, especially TC'ing. I have noticed that no matter what she posts someone is going to criticize her over picky stuff... let's try being a little nicer.
I took the post to be the same as the ones people start that say "I LOVE my Baby Que", or whatever. No one accuses them of trying to SELL a BBQ Grill on the forums.
Just my 2 cents...

Just a word to the wise. If you are using somebody else's grill and they have these, they INTEND for you to use them. I didn't on my Dad's new grill, and HOLY CATS!, did I get the stink eye! Of course, food was on the grill before I knew what they were. Dad said they really do make clean up easier...
Who cleans up? LOL! That's all seasoning for the next Q session. - BeatCJExplorerJust a word to the wise. If you are using somebody else's grill and they have these, they INTEND for you to use them. - 67avionExplorer IIThoughtful post Stars101, and I agree. But the OP has only posted in the last week - not at any other time since the ostensible 2011. Just saying its a little strange and probably gets folks suspicious...however there is no loss of bandwidth. My only concern about this pattern of posting is that people are pushed off of the front page who may have not had a chance for others to see their ideas or observations,
