This is what goes creak in the middle of the night

Thanks to the previous owner covering this up with a vinyl bath wall sheet from homedepot, front bunk seemed sound and sturdy until it let go in the middle of the night on our first trip. Thankfully we didn't end up in the parking lot when it gave way. Door is wasted and I ordered a new one this morning.

Hopefully that was the back bunk and not the front. I'd hate to experience the wind resistance trying to get that home with the front wide open!
  • They did a nice job of covering it up, the only thing that gave it away was the snaps were missing that hold the mattress. I just thought somebody had repair it before.
  • I looked at a used HTT that I'm pretty sure had a front bunk in the same shape. No way I would have slept on it. The seller was like "yeah, its got some water damage, but I just put this piece of plywood down under the mattress and its fine". Needless to say, I ran fast from that HTT.
