I currently have an F150 SC EB pulling an Outback 250RS. Zero complaints about this setup. Runs like a champ. We live in Portland and I slay the Coast Range, Cascades and Siskiyous with regularity. The DW has been hinting at wanting a new car, though. She's successful, works hard, and her car has been bank free for quite some time. She'd be more than happy with something European or Luxury Asian, if you know what I mean. She deserves and is ready for an upgrade.In a perfect world, I'd hand over the keys to the 2011 fully loaded Lariat and take her sensible and reliable low mileage car import. She can and does drive my truck from time to time. She's just not a PU kinda girl, you see. We both have uninspired commutes under 5 miles. If I could justify keeping a third car around I would, but Jr still has another 5 years before we unleash him on to the local roadways. I'm certainly willing to give up on the towing capacity. We're very happy with our 250RS and I can unequivocally say that I wouldn't to pull anything larger that what we have. So no need to consider future towing needs if that's a factor. Thanks for any and all input!!

So, why aren't you just trading in her low mileage import on something new?

Priorities change. Her entire life my wife wanted a Corvette.

Now that we full time, she is not interested in any vehicle that will not pull our trailer.

My wife wanted a luxury car... then she learned just how finnicky they can be when something eventually goes wrong and how big the repair bills can rack-up when those vehicles are out of warranty. Other bit is the service costs as well if you don't work on vehicles yourself. However, these issues are more prevalent with the European lux cars versus the Asian and American lux cars.

Just to make sure you are fully aware of what you may be purchasing, head down to your choice lux-dealer (especially if it's European). Instead of going to the sales floor, head on over to the service department. Pretend you already own said brand of vehicle and you were curious what the service costs are. I personally found that salesmen of these higher end brands either really hate telling how much something costs (and how often), or they'll just flat out say something along the lines "If you have to ask, you can't afford it". So I'm forever turned-off from European lux-line dealers. I even had an uncle that worked at Freightliner so I had access to really cheap Mercedes vehicles. I then learned how much it would cost to maintain and service... However, I'm more than happy to look at a Lexus/Infinity/Cadillac etc...

I don't know what it is rated to tow or the payload rating (can't be lower than a RAM...LOL) but the wifey says she can't live another day without an Audi Q5.

Look at an Acura MDX, though I don't think the towing capacity is much. We have had 3 Acura and I loved them all. I miss my MDX but it isn't practical for us right now.

Unless I'm missing something (and I feel I am) I agree with this as the solution. Not sure how any other would make any sense.
