I'll soon be carrying a Lance 1172 on our 16' F350 Dually. I've installed Hellwig Air Bags to assist in
maintaining the Lt or Rt sag. I'm really undecided when it comes to keeping my loaded weight level.
Like many of us, I'm continually reading so many positive comments when it comes to the Upper and/or Lower Stable Loads.
With them, I'm not a fan of the Unloaded Ride Quality using the Upper Stable Loads, or Laying on my Back Re-Adjusting the Lowers.
Do you believe Timbrens along with the Air Bags will be able to maintain a Level Load and still allow the Factory Overloads to do there Job supporting the campers weight ?
I have both on my '15 SD. Top ones I had to cut a fair amount off cuz they were constantly hitting the spring and making for a harsh unloaded ride. Lowers worked great 1st season. Left them on during the winter (disengaged) and they got rusted up pretty bad to the point it takes some really good muscle to engage them. Will have to take some time this spring to get them loosened up and free again. As for the uppers, will have to cut them some more before re-installing.
Had Timbrens on my '03 SD and liked them very much. Age of truck and orig springs (if the last one makes sense), the Timbrens were sitting atop axle pretty much all the time. Spoke w/ Timbren and explained the situation and they sent me new ones albeit a bit shorter in length. Was going to install them, but got rid of the truck.
New camper on the horizon and will be trial and error as to which set up I find works best.
