Well I don't know what I did wrong, but I hated the Timbrens. With the trailer hooked up the ride was awful. You could feel every single bump in the road as if I was riding in a wagon. Took them off and went with the Helwig Pro Series Helper Spring. Night and day difference. I love them
If using a product like the Timbrens or Torklift upper StableLoads, you need to set the height correctly for your vehicle and load. If the axle or spring are slapping up against these during use, it will give you a very bad ride. The idea is that they are not engaged when the vehicle is unloaded and there is sufficient gap for normal unloaded suspension travel. Once the vehicle is loaded, they should be engaged and stay engaged with normal loaded suspension travel. This requires a little trial and error to adjust for your application and may mean cutting back the surface of the product if it is too tall or adding spacers if it is too short.
