Time for a caribou rebuild

Been up to the mountain lakes here in AZ the last few weekends. Knoll and Long Lake.

Brother in law has a couple canoes with trolling motors.st I'm just not a canoe guy. So bought a 12 ft aluminum to get the job done.

Anyway while up north doing about 60 miles of forest service roads each weekend I discovered I let the rubber roof go just a little too long. I have water damage. Enlisted the help of a friend who has the tools and skills to keep me out of trouble. Will be pulling it down pretty far to replace framing so will post up pictures. Not going to start for another month or so.

was thinking of offing the camper but can't really afford to replace it and always liked a challenge. Pre pictures to follow.

Any tips or cautions are welcome.
  • good luck with your rebuild, sounds like a good "winter" project. looking forward to seeing the process.
  • Welll since you admit to having no skill or experience, yet, let me share something I was given when I first started learning some carpentry skills...First get a hammer next smash your hand with hammer, Lesson 1 complete. lol
Good luck and will be expecting those pics

Lesson 1 complete and I did the extra credit and hit myself in the forehead before the hand. :S
