To Drain or not to Drain

It is not good to use bleach. Most people overdose it. The only time I do it is after leaving Mexico, I put a fairly concentrated dose in, Run the taps through the hot water tank & faucets for a couple of minutes, drive for an hour then drain and refill. That is only once a year, and a precaution before drinking anything out of it in future. Apart from that I use hydrogen peroxide to sanitize them. 4 oz per tank of 4% is about correct for most fresh water tanks. Only other time I will put nay bleach in is it the water from the hot water tank is smelly. Best to minimize the use of it.
