- ScottGNomadYes, I have just used normal toilet cleaning supplies in all our RV toilets, both plastic and porcelain, without any problems.
- JAYHAWKERSExplorerIf you use liquid dish wash detergent to clean the toilet bowl, don't use too much like I did. When I emptied the black water at the dump station, bubbles, millions of bubbles came over flowing from around the hose! Took a lot of water to wash the area down. On the bright side, at least it was clean for the next camper!
- popeyemthExplorerI flush but don't refill the bowl.
Give a good shot of liquid dish detergent in the bowl, then fill with water, wait a few seconds then flush the sudsy water down .
For stubborn stains or rings leave the soapy water in the bowl till the next use.
No fuss no muss or nasty brushes to stink or clean.
Good Luck, Mike - darsbenExplorer IIPorcelain or plastic toilet?
If plastic a good coat of automotive paste wax after cleaning keeps things from sticking to sides.
If you use a formaldehyde based holding tank chemical is would be safest NOT to use a bleach based cleaner a possibility of noxious fumes being produced not a great risk but a possibility - downtheroadExplorerAsk my wife, I've never done it...
Seriously, whatever you use at home you can use in your RV.
