Since you have a long heavy load, I would recommend a 9.5 or shorter TC. When we retire and get tired of the TC, one option we are considering is a 30' TT and something like my 815. This would give us the large space for longer stays at a base camp, but still have the TC when we find the perfect spot for an overnight stay. Sometimes, you just have to be there when the sun goes down or comes up. With my 815 and SRW 3500, I still have 1600# available on the rear axle GAWR so have plenty to handle the hitch weight. Plus, I do not need an extension since the TC ends at the back of the rear bumper.
