- LynnesdExplorerWe live in San Clemente and we like to head out there in December for the Geminid meteor showers. It's always nice and dark and clear and uncrowded.
Sometimes we visit the Salton Sea as part of the trip to check out the birds. The dawn lift-off of the geese and sandhill cranes is an amazing sight. - bka0721Explorer IIGreat Report! Always great seeing a family out in their TC. Looking forward to getting out there myself, one of these months.
Thanks!
b - exhaustipatedExplorerA very good trip report with lots of photos. Thanks for sharing them. Your kids are lucky to be doing this with you right now as they'll grow up way too fast for you. Someday they'll both remember all the good times everyone had camping together.
- Mello_MikeExplorerGreat pics, Nolan. Looks like everyone had a great time.
- profdant139Explorer IIGreat trip report -- and someday, those kids will fully realize how lucky they are!

Other than the cactus in the leg, it looked like you had a fun time with the family. How old are your kids? They look like they may be close in age to ours. We have a 6-yr old son and 10-yr old daughter. They both really enjoy camping.
Happy Travels!
Yeah, our kids really love camping as well. Try to get out as much as we can because I know they will be out of the house sooner than we realize. My son is 6, and my daughter is 9.
#1 rule when camping in the Desert....Always carry a pair of tweezers with you :) - run100ExplorerOther than the cactus in the leg, it looked like you had a fun time with the family. Very cool! I love that area. Were the roads you were on all ok for 2wd? What about a dually? They looked pretty narrow..
Thanks for sharing your trip! Solar for me is next also! Can't wait!
Cheers!

You are good out there right now both with a dually and 2wd if you don't mind desert pin stripes :) It is a bit narrow and they graded the road so there is some high dirt curbs but it just adds to the adventure. Right now It is the perfect adventure for a 2wd dually. Not sure after the rains (if we ever get any).
Ha! You are SO right! IF we ever get any rain! I'll keep an eye out on the weather and if it holds through the first of November I'm there! Thanks! Oh, and I"ll watch for those pin stripes! I'd rather not have them if possible....
