Just a note: Rancho Seco is really quiet in the fall and winter but it can get crowded and noisy during the day late spring into summer. Staff is very good at imposing quiet hours at night. The gates are locked at night to prevent partyers from town coming in. Campers with registered sites are the only folks allowed to overnight. I have always felt safe here even in high season
