Nice story! Jake looks a lot like my bud Cosmo, a Australian Shepherd Golden Retriever mix.
So Jake stays in the TC when you fish? He is ok with being alone in the camper? (I am in the process of buying the camper, haven't camped yet, so don't know how Cosmo will respond to being alone in the camper).
There is that recent show Pacific Warriors on the Discovery Channel. One guy takes his dog on the Kayak ocean fishing. The dog stands on a platform on the back of the Kayak and seems to be having a great time. When I started reading I was wondering if Jake would go with you on the Kayak but as I read it seems not. I suppose the ocean Kayak is a much larger boat, and it is a smaller dog.
I am sure Cosmo would love taking a boat ride but I think it would require a bigger boat.
