Trail sport issues.
First TT for our family and bought used a few days before Christmas. Supposedly all winterized by dealer and allset. Yesterday I went out with my two girls to load the camper for our first shakedown trip. I hooked up the hose to the city supply along with a pressure regulator. Rang the two sinks and shower to remove the antifreeze. No problem untill I put the plug in the water heater and opened the valves to fill it. A couple of minutes later I hear water inside the camper. I removed the dinette seat to find water spraying out of I the top of the water heater. I shut it down fairly quick but still managed the flood the front end of the trailer, I tore the insulation from the back of the heater and discovered a large crack in the top of the water heater, wtf. It's obvious the dealer didn't go through the camper before I took it. Infact I believe that they Prob took the camper in on trade and never did anything to it. I did call the dealer and supposedly they are going to try and assist but they are 6hrs from me.
Anyway, I removed the carpet under the dineete and beneath the seats because they were soaked. Only to discover black rotten Luan plywood under the seats as well as a bunch of water. I then dropped the front bunk and saw that the canvas was full of water. I can only assume that the bunk door seal is no good. It appears that the po replaced most of the floor except under the front and sides of the dineete so hopefully not going to be too hard.
Strange setup for a floor, two pieces of luan with foam in between. I removed the heater and started to rebuild the floor today. I screwed in aluminum L Channel stock to the side pieces and wrapped the lower membrane with Grace ice and water. I then cut a piece of 3/8" down first. I west system the bottom. Of the first layer to help with moisture. I will then build s frame from 1 1/4" wood and fill the middle with foam board and top screw a piece of 3/8. Then hopefully be able to used vinyl tiles to cover it all. Fortunately most of it is under the benches.
Not sure how to post pics yet but will try later
