What tire have you found to be long lasting, and durable. I have a 2016 3/4 ton truck that is my every day driver ,plus my tow rig. I'm coming up on a new set of tires ,as the original ones (Firestone Transforce E rated) have 21,000 miles on them and are shot. My son has the same truck,only a year older .pulls a 5th wheel,and just put on a set of BFG's AT2's that didn't last 20,000 miles .Yes he kept up on rotation. So ,what are you guys running that have given you very good milage and service, and have a some what AT tread. My tires are 20inch.--Thank you for all recommendations

I can't speak to 20" tires, and perhaps there's a difference, but my experience with both car and truck tires up to 18" is, the few times I've chosen other than Michelins, I have been very disappointed with getting more than 30,000 miles. My most recent set of Mich truck tires went over 60,000 miles. However, and it's a big however, I had a RR blowout while pulling my FW last summer. I don't know if it was caused by a road hazard, age, or miles. It was the first Mich blowout I've ever had. Regardless, I still went out and replaced the whole set with more Michelins.

Toyo Open Country AT2Cooper AT3 or ST MaxxI have the BFGs on my truck too and they aren't wearing very well. I got a deal on them and didn't really expect them to wear real well, but I was hoping for a little better than I'm getting. They do perform well otherwise. The snowflake rating is very handy in the winter.

I run and like the BFGs and get considerably better mileage. I wonder if it’s the difference between Arizona heat and Oregon cold. We need to run snowflake rated tires, so that may have something to do with it. Lots of good choices. Best of luck.

7 Yrs FT traveling every week towing 14K FWReplaced OEM 'highway' tires within first 8mos cause they had terrible traction issues with set of Michelin AT2s \\60,000 miles later new set of Michelin AT2s not so much because the first set were 'worn' out but because I am anal about having good tires.1st set still had good tread left but had been towing almost at MAX Load rating so it was time for new tires.2nd set ....same 60,000 miles and time again for new tires.3rd set...Cooper Discover. Only have about 7,000 miles on these. Do Not like them. Seem to be OK as far as wearing BUT they feel like they are square in cold temps and take too long to warm up/round out. Disappointed....ran Coopers for years but will not be going back to them when these are replaced.Michelin served me very well

I'm on my second set of Cooper AT3s. First one lasted 6 years and 80k miles and they were not at the low tread mark yet. Do great on the highway, low noise. Great on snowy or icy roads. If you drive in any mud they aren't the best. I never drive in mud so they are great for me.

I have the Pep Boys House Brand made by Cooper.

Coopers are pretty good. Not seen much bad written about them and had good luck with my Pep's.

Best tire I had was 2 sets of Bridgestone Dueler Revos. Got 60k out of both sets. They rode great, good traction in various conditions. Only problem was they were expensive.

I went cheap and bought some Wild Country's, and they just didn't ride as well, or wear well.

Currently I've got a set of Cooper AT3s, and they seem like a good compromise. Decent price, good ride, and seem to be holding up well.

I have somewhere around 250K miles on various HD trucks and have burned through a few sets of tires. Stocks on these Ram trucks do suck big time. I got about 28K from my Firestones.

For mileage and all season performance you can't beat the Michelins. I know there are incidents of problems with them but they are fewer and further between than any other brand. The LTX line is fantastic but it's a very auto tire tread. Great in rain, terrible is mud, decent in snow.

I'm currently running a set of 4 season with the snowflake rating from Les Schwarb and have been very happy.... except for the tread wear. At 35K miles they are at least 75% shot. I think they are Wild Country or Toyo brand. It's great to not have to swap out to other tires or worry about getting in trouble if I have to go over a winter pass and were to get in an accident where traction devices were required.

So, to a large extent, it depends on where you drive. If I were never worried about winter driving it would be Michelins without a doubt. I'm up in the Pacific NW and do encounter snow/ice somewhat often. I use to run studded winter tires on rims and would swap them out but it always seemed like I was getting caught with the wrong tires and in my garage as 12AM getting ready for a job the next day.

As my 4 seasons wear out I'm not totally sure which direction I'll go but it is pretty nice not having to worry at all and just have a 4 season tire.

I run top line Goodyear and have always had great performance and longevity.
OEM AT/S went just short of 90,000 miles.
Silent Armor with Kevlar 70,000
Silent Armor with Kevlar aged out at 38,000 and plenty of tread left.
Just installed All Terrain and I expect to get another 10 years or 70,000 great miles.

I'm guessing you have a ram by your oem tire. There is a thread in the Cummins forum on Nitto Exo Grappler. They have a pretty beefy tread yet look to be last quite a while for some. A couple guy even have them on a dually. I'm about 100% sure these tires will be going on my truck come spring. There are guys running them in AZ as well as the snow belt and nothing but good things to read. They may be slightly noisier than your traditional tread but that's a trade off I'm willing to take

A good place to see some reference on the different tires is at Tirerack.com. They have ratings and comparisons on many of the major brands for all different varieties of tires. I have had alot of tires over the years, but on my trucks I have for years now been using Michelin LTX M/S, in the original, the second generation and the newest generation Defender series. I have been really happy with all of them and found they not only drove well in all conditions, but wear well. When my current set of LTX AT2 (Original tires on my current truck) finally wear out I will switch to the Defender LTX M/S.
