TT doors

New comer, have a 97 kz tt, 2 doors, one in bad shape, in need of repair, how are they constructed, frame work and all.where would I start on it to strenghten it up ? thanks for any assist.
  • If your doors are constructed like mine and they may be as the industry uses similar parts, the framing is metal and wood. The vertical piece at the latch is steel, the rest is wood. My doors have required rebuilding, not a hard job, and need it again. My windows are held in place by little tabs on the plastic frame that supports them. The tabs break off after years and the window slides down in the frame and water gets in and rots the wood. I'm going to do it right this time. I just need someone to help with removal and reinstall of the doors. Good luck.

The door on my truck camper started sagging and the bottom was coming apart... Found some rot on the bottom wood... The factory didn't put enough wood for the frame in the door... I know they wanted to cut down on weight.

But, my new door has a lot of wood in it!

I looked online and seen some for $1000 dollars... No way would I buy one that cost that much, so I built my own!

Here's a thread if you want to build your own!:B

Built A New Entry Door For My Truck Camper!

The door was easy to build and I only have a little over $60 dollars in it, and it will outlast the camper!
