TT Hitch qutestions

I have a 2022 ketstone springdale 242rkwe, i currently haul it with a basic fastway e2 hitch which does ok. I have a some concerns with the amount of stress it puts on the frame on the trailer. I have a friend who tows with a shocker hitch and swears its a game changer. I was curious if anyone had any experience with a shocker hitch and some pros and cons/general comparison, if they're worth the money or not. Any input would be greatly appreciated. If this topic is posted elsewhere and i just didnt find it i apologize in advance.

    I don't have the shocker htich but I do have a Air safe Air hitch for my truck.

    Updside: it is a game changer when traveling on roads with frost heaves, etc. it really does dampen the interaction between the TV and trailer, And it easily works with a WD hitch, I use a Reece dual cam.

    Downside: It's heavy pushing 100lbs, It's expensive.

    We travel enough miles/year, that for us it was worth the investment,

    Shocker hitches work as advertised. But aren't really necessary. Most frame failures from Lippert frames are with 5th wheels. Very few ever from TT frames.
    What does fail with TT's that have Lippert frame components are the spring hangers, springs, and axles.

    For sure. Given 100 problems and 100 "fantastic products" you'll see 99 complaints online but maybe just one rave.

    I'm not actively looking to go drop money on a new hitch just wanted to hear some thoughts other than my own on the matter. As far as the broken frame topic goes, I have read horror stories about lippert trailer frames breaking but I suppose I could find complaints about anything if I looked hard enough lol

    If you want to switch hitches, go for it; if you’re looking for a reason to switch, “frame stress” doesn’t hold any water. If you’re trying to convince your wife - it should work.

    I think you'd be wasting your money buying another hitch. The Shocker looks like a gimmick to me.

    Walk around a campground and you will find it's the default to use a WDH on pretty much any trailer over 20ft long.

    Assuming you don't do something completely dumb...if you manage to break the A-frame with a WDH, there was a defect in the A-frame.

    I've never heard of a weight distribution hitch damaging a trailer A-Frame.
