Turning the Page

Well, we did it...we sold the TT! After starting in 1998 with a pop up, then moving to a 2-bunk TT in 2000, then a 4-bunk TT in 2002 and finally this no-bunk TT in 2008.

The guy who's buying it will be parking it behind his shop and using it as an office. I'm towing it there for him this weekend since he doesn't have a TV, which means he didn't want the HA hitch either.

Life goes on, I acquired a 2002 Lance truck camper that needs some restoration. The price was right because it was all zeroes...LOL. Now I'll have some time to work on that. See y'all over on the TC forum!

    Here is the new project. Guy was offering this for FREE last year, it's a 2002 Lance fully loaded with dinette slide, etc. Needs some restoration work, but the price was right.

    I picked this up last year and it's been sitting behind the garage while I finished the remodel on the house. Now that the TT is sold, I'll move this over to the paved area where the TT was parked, get a tarp on it and get to work!

    Next step will be to sell the burb and get a pickup so I can haul this around!

    I'm excited for you. Getting rid of the old RV is often the most challenging part of transitioning to a new RV. Glad to hear the out with the old part is take care of.

    We went to a class B, but still have the trailer. Can't let 'er go - just in case we want to take a long enough trip where we will want to bring our 2 cats. Last year was our first with just the B - didn't even dewinterize the trailer. The B is so much more nimble than a truck and trailer - as your truck camper will be...

    Good luck with your new adventure - I remember lots of your previous posts on trailer modifications and maintenance and of course hitch discussions. :)

    We started with our eight kids in a big old army tent. When they were all adults and off on their own, we graduated to a pop-up. From there we went to a 19 foot hard side TT, and then on to a 25 footer.
    We now have a 40 footer, (that we bought new two years ago). It is 50 amps, with 2 A/C units, and two queen size bedrooms and a residential refrigerator. I have it on blocks on my own lot, in a RV campground and have a dock box at its rear with a residential washer and dryer-
    Needless to say I'll never tow it

    We all seem to move on at some point in our lives. Our big moment came a couple of years ago when we took our last RV trip after almost 50 years of towing various rigs. Now our trailer sits permanently in a beautiful family campground in the woods and we use it regularly in the summer.

    I hope your new TC works out for you Burbman. It has been many years since we had a face to face but I remember you and your rig (and hitch :W) very well. Good luck on your new adventure and stop by the towing forum now and then to say HI. :)

    I just keep modifying the same old trailer. I look at new ones a lot, but always come back to the one that's done it all for us reliably. Happy camping!

    I am looking to do the same, from the current 30 foot TT to a nice truck camper. I already have the truck, now I need the camper.

    Haha I'm 6'5" 275, the ceiling height is the same as the TT was...it even has a slide for the dinette!

    We really wanted a 4WD Class C, but unfortunately not in the budget right now, so FREE truck camper, all I need is a truck. We're not entirely sure this is a good fit, but we'll try it out and see.

    If not we'll sell it and move on. I only want something to spend weekends at the beach, not travel x-country.
