You obviously either missed or ignored the excellent head to head QUANTATIVE based tests done between the two in THIS THREAD ... Nothing anecdotal or subjective there and proves that the batman/wingman combo is superior to the jack for both UHF and VHF signals.

There really is nothing to "fix." The switch chooses input from either the outside cable connection or the antenna. The 12V power is applied to only the antenna for its built-in amplifier. If the two inputs were coupled, then 12V power would be supplied to the campground system.

The dimwits that built my trailer installed the switch where it could not be seen or reached. I thought that I could add a power switch installed where it could be used. When I pulled the plate I learned that it can't be done for the reasons mentioned above.

You didn't mention it's also an Ant-Ext switch. Obviously not the normal power inserter.

I installed a Wingman and found just a small improvement. You must be more precise in pointing the antenna with the Wingman.

The ONLY thing it does is shut the amplifier off. Depending on where you are and what you can pickup, the Wingman can make the difference between no TV at all, and several reasonably good channels.

My switch connects both the 12v power and switches the cable connections. That is why the antenna reception fails completely with the switch off. Please pull your switch apart and then report what you find. Maybe yours is different than mine.

So true. It seems the digital signal is more 'focused' than the old signal, and the further from the transmitter site you are, the more abrupt the decrease in signal strength. Couple of years ago we were camped in the Fl. Panhandle on the beach near Apalachicola. Struggled mightily to get Tallahassee TV stations, yet early one morning when I was awake before the wife, I turned on the TV and was picking up two Orlando TV stations as if I was back home. Go figure.........:h
