Under carriage on new bigfoot trailer question

Hi all!
We are new to RVing and thought we were spending extra money for the reputation of good quality of the Bigfoot trailer. We bought our brand new 2017 25B21FB in July of this year and after our second trip we washed it only to find a few questionable things that are concerning.
Under the area where the propane bbq hook up is attached there appears to be a number of holes that look like they were patched and someone had actually applied white caulking over top of the area that appears to be cracked. I would appreciate any advise from the seasoned Bigfoot owners if you can tell me if this is a problem or if this is just substandard workmanship? I have emailed Bigfoot in Armstrong and was advised that this is apparently this way because of how the mold is prepared. Our concern is that over time the crack is going to get worse or could be looked at as a defect which would greatly devalue this trailer when we decide to sell it.
Also there seems to be a problem with the rivets under the front window covering that are already rusted apparently the service outlet says nothing can be done about this, has anyone got any ideas here.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
  • Iam not familiar with the 21 but my 17cb has 1/4 inch holes along the bottom of the radius for drains I would contact Bigfoot perhaps you have some damage that occurred during shipping and the dealer tried to bondo or Marine Tex it
  • I posted this earlier but it seemed to disappear when it moved to technical support:

Congratulations on your Bigfoot trailer. We bought our 2004 used and it had no such issues however no propane hook up. I would consider a crack in the hull as major and something that needs to be addressed. As far as fasteners, Bigfoot did use zinc plated fasteners on the exterior which would show rust. I replaced all mine with stainless. The ones that come to mind are the screws that hold the propane shroud down and the nuts that hold the spare tire cover in place. If they used a zinc plated fastener to hold an aluminum bracket electrolysis will cause it to show rust in a season. They also make stainless pop rivets. Our trailer had inexpensive lug nuts that rusted after a while but that is prevalent with all brands. You are going to love that trailer and use it for many years not having to deal with the leakage problems that plague other brands. Welcome to the forum.
  • Warranty?
    Take to the dealer?
Post on bigfootowners forum where others also have new ones.
    Also pics could help.
  • I do not know the answer but we are looking at Bigfoot. Are you happy with the overall quality? They all have issues to deal with :(
