I have placed my order at Chalet rv 1 month ago and 2 weeks after, I realized that a back up camera would be a nice Christmas present for me. Send a email no problem. Well I just received the new invoice and on top of the $595.00 for the camera an other $100.00!! Chalet RV charged me an $100.00 up-charge for add-ons because the PO has allready been placed! Any body have ever experience that? Thanks Steve

Years ago I custom ordered a Dutchman TT. I wanted them to leave OUT the carpet that they normally installed over the linoleum. (Florida sand and dogs)

They wanted $50.00 to NOT install the carpet. I was ready to cancel the deal. I suspect the dealer paid it to keep the deal, as the charge went away.

I agree. Most change orders placed by a customer will require some unplanned action by the builder. Change order charges typically is to off set a real cost to the company. Some will eat it and some will expect you to eat it.

As was posted this is a common and accepted practice. I noticed McDonald's will just trash it to make one happy sometimes. 🙂

Price sounds about right, mine was $574,for wireless, color, plus night vision camera with an 8" screen and was mounted on the top rear of the camper.
As far as the other charge, I added a lot of option as my camper was being built and there was no extra charges.

That seems pretty common in the business world. When we built our house, after the fact, a door on a coat closet in the back hallway, cost $500. They were still in the framing stages.
