I have a different opinion.
First, you’re not going to find any FoMoCo factory backed warranty on a 9 year old rig.
If you don’t think you can trust it, and can’t fix it yourself (for the most part) then I’d seriously consider investing the extra money you’ll spend on the warranty on a newer/different truck. IE, one that you don’t have to worry about the injection pump taking out the whole fuel system, and the turbo and radiator.
Now if you’re getting a screamin deal on a very nice condition truck, consider that savings as funds for potential future repairs, put a CP4 bypass kit on it to prevent possible injection pump failure causing a $1000 issue to be a $10k issue. And save the rest for a rainy day.
