Electrical installation is one of the major problems with RV manufacturers. They do not follow the appropriate sections of the NEC.
Many portions of RVs and RV parks of NEC 551 is followed.
However they do not follow NEC Art 200 where white and grey wires are to be used for neutrals only.
Does the NEC apply to the manufacture of RVs? I thought they were built to RIVA standards. I know RV parks and RV power cord wiring (where it connects to the grid) are subject to NEC and I think park model trailers and mobile homes might be subject to NEC but I didn't think RVs were.
That might explain why there are different color codes used. I know folks say they should be black and red (like a car) but I think every RV I've had was black and white but I'm not sure.
