Do you have the payload to support that new trailer?
Ford says your truck could pull 7700 lbs, but, that is with a 150 lb driver, only. They also have a maximum weight limit for GVWR and cargo capacity (payload) that includes the weight of fuel, occupants, cargo, WD hitch, and tongue weight. As you load up the truck, with passengers and cargo, your available payload and tow capacity goes down, pound for pound.
Some versions of F150's have as little as 750 lbs of payload, some have as much as 3100 lbs. That trailer will need about 950 lbs of available payload.
