Just makes you wonder doesn't it. What are people thinking?
I had a co-worker that commented to me that she had never changed the oil in her new Honda Prelude (40K miles). She went on to explain that with her last car she changed it regularly and the head gasket blew at 100000 miles. :S :S :S
The sad part is that I saw her drive away and I could see a blue haze from the tail pipe.
I pity the dealer rep who has to deal with people like that.

Well...common sense isn't all that common...or that we even have advisors here telling folks to lie...tuners are my guess to the #1...#2 would be deleting smog equipment/components
That is fraud, IMHO
Then folks wonder why OEMs/Dealers are so hesitant to provide warranty
Funniest personal was while waiting in line at a fast food burger joint...a guy came in yelling that his burgers & fries were stale. Really yelling and making a fuss
The manager came out and asked what the problem was
That guy yelled at the top of his lungs of how poor the food was and wanted his money back
Manager asked to see the food and the guy showed him the bag with half eaten burgers and fries (more than one burger)
Manager asked him when did he purchase this...the guy said just a few minutes ago through the drive through
Manager said that he would have to go through the drive through to get his money back...
I got it, as that McD's did NOT have a drive through....that guy didn't come back while I was still in there...
My favorite was the Mustang that was brought into the service department, both airbags deployed, no body damage at all.
Once it was up on the lift, it was obvious the vehicle had been jumped, hard...the engine cross member was scraped really badly and deformed an inch or two.
Eventually the story came back that they were jumping it over a rail road crossing. Warranty denied...
My friend bought a new car a while back...a loaded (everything but auto trans and sunroof) Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, bought it new, had ~15 miles on it. The clutch was totally gone (car would not move at all!) by 8k, the dealer basically accused him of abusing it. (Note: he put over 100K on the clutch of his Subaru GL, which had 90K on it to begin with!) The clutch went on the highway in 6th gear...totally gone in the space of 30 seconds.
It HAD to be a factory defect, but Nissan flat refused to fix it.
