Well the new truck has the common black plastic everwhere. In the past I've liked the results from Nu-Finish on paint, but that stuff leaves a lot of white residue on plastic. One vehicle I even resorted to taping off the plastic, but that's too much work.Last couple of times on the Jeep and truck I've used Turtle Wax Ice. It does not leave white on plastic, as claimed. And it doesn't leave much protection on the paint either! It does not provide much of a slick feeling even when fresh, and within a month sap, bird droppings and bugs are sticking and staining as if the truck had bare paint.So... any products out there that WILL protect the paint and WON'T be a PITA around the plastics? I'm up for anything- have considered the DIY sealants etc as well as traditional waxes.Thanks for your time.

On black trim I like Black Again. Works well.On the body I like Collinite Fleetwax.

I really like "Back to Black" by Mothers. Works great on black and on colors too. Have used it for years with great results on black, then the wife read the instructions and they said it was good for color too. So tried it on the brown fiberglass of our TT and it worked great there too.

For this very reason, I use ProtectAll. Start with a good finish and it works well, but don't expect it to last too long.My 18 year old F150 plastic parts still look brand new!

I've had good luck with the Meguiar's ultimate paste wax. Non whitening on trim.

Check out durogloss sealents they last a long time and are not real expensive.

Love Zaino products. Been using for years on all kinds of vehicles with very good results. Even use it on the front cap of my 5er. Stuff lasts a long time.

If you are willing to spend the money and time this is one of the best. You mix a small amount of product with a catalyst and apply in thin coats. It will bead and last about year under normal conditions.

Back to black sucks... Washes off after one run through the car wash. Has gotten lots of poor reviews in black trim comparisons and I can see why. Don't understand why so many like that crap. Recently picked up Wipe New from Home Depot and stuff is 10x better. Several car washes and still looks like the day I put it on.

At one time, I was a believer in Armour All for use on all plastics on a vehicle (incl the dash----MISTAKE). Aftwer reading the posts and high praise for 303, I now use that on all plastics, INCL the dash. Only thing I use Armour All for now is around doors and door frames. Was told a few years back that AA eventually turns things white. As for wax, I use Eagle One on vehicles only. Once that's gone, like donn, will switch over to Collinite (it's made here in Utica, NY.).

Lol nufinish, if use a real polymer sealant you won't have an issue with plastics.

I'm liking HD Speed AIO lately. It's easy to use even by hand, looks great, and lasts a while. No white residue on plastic trim.

303 for anything not painted the sun can hit.
