Weight distribution hitch ratings

Either the Reece duel cam (most any variant) or the Equalizer will exert several times as much straightening force as a friction bar anti sway. Either one will make a big difference. My own choice is the Reece system because it's proactive about sway (using it's force to prevent the hitch connection from going out of a straight line but not exerting much force to prevent it from straightening when in a turn. The Equalizer exerts as much force keeping the connection bent as preventing it from bending in the first place. IN the real world, both do a good job.

I would argue with ScottG that his dual cam is "far superior" to an equal-i-zer which is what the dealer is trying to sell.

But to be fair we aren't talking apples to apples and ScottG did not state that his dual cam is far superior to an equal-i-zer.
Scott stated that his dual cam is far superior to an equalizer and to that statement I would say he is probably correct.

equalizer is a generic term that is typically used to describe a weight distribution hitch. Sway control is an add on component of this type of hitch.

equal-i-zer is a product name that is manufactured by Progress Manufacturing. equal-i-zer is weight distribution and built in sway control. I would say and you will read countless opinions on here that the equal-i-zer (not equalizer) is comparable to a Reese dual cam.

I run an equal-i-zer and so far I have been happy with it. It is quick to hook up, and easy to use. I say if the dealer has an actual brand name equal-i-zer you might want to consider it.

But do be aware that if you are a bit handy, you can purchase an equal-i-zer and matching hitch ball from rvwholesalers.com for around $500 and assemble it yourself. Counting the tow ball there is a total of 12 bolts to the entire system, 8 on the brackets and 4 on the hitch head.

Your dealer wants to sell what he has. I've had several different brands including an "Equalizer" and the Reese Dual Cam is a far superior product.

Dont know what your towing but best out there is the Hensley IMO..
